Telegram connects to Kommo CRM in two ways: through your personal Telegram account (convenient when customers already write to you directly) or through a dedicated company Telegram bot (when customers write to the bot). Once configured, every Telegram message arrives in your Kommo pipeline as a deal, and the sales rep replies directly from the CRM. Here's a step-by-step walkthrough of both options.
Why connect Telegram to Kommo at all
Messages stop drowning in personal chats. Every inquiry becomes a deal card — with a conversation history, tasks, and reminders. Sales reps respond from Kommo, and as the business owner you see all conversations in one pipeline alongside Instagram, WhatsApp, and website leads. Nothing gets lost.
Option 1. Personal Telegram account
This is the right choice if customers already know your work Telegram and write to it. Messages from that account will simply start appearing in Kommo as well — nothing changes for the customer.
Step 1. In Kommo, open settings and go to the messaging channels section.
Step 2. Select Telegram and choose the "personal account" connection method. Kommo will display a QR code.
Step 3. Pick up your phone. In the Telegram app, go to Settings → Devices → "Link Desktop Device" and point the camera at the QR code on the Kommo screen.
Step 4. Done. New messages from your Telegram will appear in Kommo as deals. Test it right away: send yourself a message from a different account and confirm the inquiry lands in the pipeline.
Option 2. Company Telegram bot
A bot is what you need when you want customers to reach a dedicated account — for example, from a button on your website or from an ad — with all those inquiries flowing into Kommo.
Step 1. In Telegram, find @BotFather, send the command /newbot, and give your bot a name and username. BotFather will reply with a token — a long string of characters. Copy it; you'll need it next.
Step 2. In Kommo, open the Telegram bot connection (built-in or via integration) and paste the token.
Step 3. Save. From now on, anyone who messages your bot will appear as a deal in Kommo.
Step 4. Let customers know where to reach you: add the bot link to your website, your Instagram profile, and your ads.
Which option to choose
- Personal account — when customers already write to your Telegram and you don't want to ask them to change anything.
- Bot — when you want a dedicated entry point for inquiries, automated replies, and a clear separation between work and personal.
These two options aren't mutually exclusive — many businesses run both a personal account and a bot at the same time.
What's next: automation
Connecting Telegram is just the foundation. On top of it you layer automation: the first reply goes out automatically, inquiries are routed between sales reps, and an AI assistant handles conversations around the clock before handing the rep a warm lead. More on the AI assistant on the AI Chat for Kommo page. If you'd like Telegram and your pipeline configured end-to-end for your specific process, we'll handle the full setup.
Kommo updates its interface from time to time, so section names may differ slightly from what's described here. If something doesn't match, reach out — we'll guide you through your specific version.
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect multiple Telegram accounts to one Kommo?
Yes. Connect as many channels as you need — personal accounts and bots alike. They all feed into one pipeline.
Will customers know they're being answered through a CRM?
No. From their side it's a normal Telegram chat — the fact that the sales rep is working from Kommo is completely invisible.
Is the conversation history saved?
Yes. The full conversation thread lives in the deal and contact card, and remains visible even after the customer is reassigned to a different sales rep.
Is Telegram in Kommo a paid add-on?
Channel connections are included in the Kommo subscription. Check kommo.com for current plan terms and limits.
